Holiday Children Workshops (Sept 2024)

Discover the therapeutic and malleability of clay through a series of engaging hand-building workshops designed for young children @ The Potters' Guilt!

Have them create their own functional ware while learning about patterns, textures, colours and form through the technique of pinching and pottery on the wheel!

All session fees include for 1 completed piece/pax to be fired and glazed, additional pieces can be fired at $10.00 per piece.

Collection of glazed-fired works in 8-9 weeks after the session

Workshop 1: Kids' Fest- Big Mug Workshop (recommended for 6-12 years old)

$50.00/child

Date: Sat 31 Aug, 4:30-5:30pm

Make your own Big Mug and see a lump of clay transform into a cup right before your eyes!

Using the slab building technique, create your own Big Mug and explore textures, patterns and repetition in your decoration!

Technique: Slab Building Technique

Outcome: 1 Big Mug

Workshop 2: Monster Mug (recommended for 6-12 years old)

$50.00/child

Date: Wed 4 Sep, 1:30-3:00pm

Make your own Monster Mug and see a lump of clay transform into a cup right before your eyes! Is it a scary or friendly monster? Does your monster have 5 eyes, 3 ears, 2 mouths?

Using the slab building technique, create your own monster mug and explore textures, patters and repetition in your decoration!

Outcome: 1 Monster Mug

Workshop 3: Wheel-ing Time! (Adult & Child, 8-12 years old)

$110.00/pair

Date: Thursday 5 Sep, 2:00-3:30pm

Share your first throwing experience together as parent/guardian and child, and create your own masterpieces on the pottery wheel! You will get to take turns on the wheel one after the other and experience the failure and success together!

Technique: Throwing on the Wheel

Outcome: 1 cup/bowl per participant
